Technical Writer

Job Description
• Organizing material and write descriptive copy according to standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
• Re-write current oriented content.
• Update and write new content according to the needs of the business.
• Assist in laying out material for publication.
• Prepare product documentation, such as operating and maintenance manuals, catalogs and assembly/disassembly instructions.
• Plan and edit technical materials and oversee the preparation of illustrations, photographs, diagrams, and charts.
• Document and communicate updates and modifications made.
• Coordinating with customers (Engineering services) for new changes.
• Work with engineers and subject matter experts to prepare written interpretations of engineering and design specifications and other information for a general readership.
• Scheduling and leading the brainstorming sessions with customers to collect ideas and doing benefit analysis.
• Should take an active role in usability and testing.
• Accountable for customer satisfaction.
Profile
• Graduate/Post graduates in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering with preferable 2 years of experience in Core Technical Writing in the areas of Mechanical/ Automotive/ Agricultural & Constructional Equipment domains.
• Should posses leadership skills.
• Should be able to write assembly, disassembly, maintenance and troubleshooting procedures for entire Automobile/ Agricultural Equipment & Machineries/ Construction Equipments.
• Should have high degree of Mechanical/ Automotive engineering comprehension.
• Should have a solid knowledge of documentation standards.
• Specific tool knowledge, such as HTML, XML, Adobe FrameMaker (structured/unstructured), Arbortext (Epic Editor), ISO Draw 7, RoboHelp, PageMaker, Indesign, Quick Silver, Quark and MS office.
• Should be able to validate the documentation - confirmation that the product works the way it is documented to work.
• Should be accustomed to learning and capable of learning a new tool quickly and efficiently.
