Database Engineer

* Provide technical guidance and leadership on all database related issues.
* Participate in requirements analysis and technical design from a database perspective.
* Analysis and review of current database applications offering improvements and enhancements.
* Ensure performance of database systems, understand the platform on which the database runs and understand security considerations to effectively design and implement secure solutions.
* Participate in code reviews and adhere to coding standards/guidelines.
* Assist with database builds and setting up staging and production database environments.
* Research new technologies/techniques and how they can be used to improve our product offerings.
The ideal candidate should have:
* 2+ years of database experience. * Excellent database design skills and complete understanding of relational database concepts * Expert knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and T-SQL * Skilled at analyzing and optimizing indexes, procedures, user defined functions etc. * Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written * Excellent analytical skills – identifies and defines problems; determines probable causes; suggests solutions * Excellent problem solving skills * Be highly organized and methodical * Bachelors in Computer Science or related degree with strong technical background * Experience with ASP, ASP.Net and C# an advantage * Experience with DHTML, XML, DTD, XSLT and JavaScript an advantage
